Cooking Class 4 Kids – Spelt Crust Pizza

One of the Kids favorite classes – we got ooey and gooey!  Playing with pizza dough was so fun for them, they didn’t want to stop.  I had to urge them to roll out their dough so we could actually make the pizzas – they HAD to go into the oven!
After we mixed all the pizza dough ingredients together, each one of us got sticky and kneaded our own dough. After working on a sheet of parchment paper with a lot of extra flour, it was time to add our toppings.  We spread our pizza sauce on top and an Italian blend of grated cheeses.  All the kids had spinach leaves that they could tear up and try raw or cooked on top of their pizza.
A seven year old girl said, “I didn’t know I liked spinach!  It’s actually not bad.”
Confirmation: Let kids touch, see, smell, cook with, cut, make it their own with lots of different foods and you’ll be surprised with what they will try and start to eat.
